We believe that environmental, social & governance (ESG) change will only be achieved when it impacts positively on the bottom-line. Long-term and sustained profits will continue to command a premium on the share price of well-run, forward-looking and balanced businesses, and ESG strategies will play an important role in keeping these businesses in business.
We also believe that figuring this out is a challenge for the ESG advisory industry. If we are not smart enough to show our clients the links between ESG and financial performance, then we’re not doing our job as consultants. Historically, environmental consultants have battled to contribute to the financial success of their clients. They have largely been perceived as a luxury or a grudge purchase or relegated to the category of bunny huggers or alarmists.
What we endeavour to show our clients is that their environmental and social license to operate may be viewed as either a liability or an opportunity for market differentiation, process optimisation and/or improvement of relationships with stakeholders. EBS can assist in achieving both: helping you minimise your liabilities and benefit from progressive sustainability strategies. We identify where our clients are in this value addition life cycle and propose appropriate strategies accordingly.
